Why Restoring sneakers Is Harder Than You Think

I think one of the most under-appreciated crafts when it comes to sneakers is the process of actually restoring sneakers. You might be a bit confused about the idea of restoring sneakers but its actually very simple. It is a very similar process of restoring dress shoes. The main difference is that sneakers have certain features and materials that are different from dress shoes and they are also restored in different ways. Being able to develop the skill to restore sneakers at a high level has shown to be a difficult task. It is something that requires practice and experience. I always like to observe and watch these restoraions on youtube or Instagram to see what kind of techniques they use. I’m not sure if this is just me or not but I have always been tempted to buy a pair of beat-up sneakers to try and restore them. Sneaker restoration has always been one of the aspects of sneakers that has intrigued me. The idea of being able to turn a sneaker that has seen better days into a shoe that looks like it has been lightly worn.

Air Max day is the celebration of one of Nike’s most iconic shoe lines. The official day for air max day is march 26th. You might be asking why to march 26th of all days of the year. March 26th, 2014 marks 27 years since the first Air max Model was released in 1987. The original Air max one was the one that started it all. with this one shoe, Nike went on to create classics like the air max 90, 95, and 97. Since 2014 Nike has continued to celebrate Airmax day with sneakerheads all over the world. In addition to all of the great festivities, Nike also releases many limited air max day exclusives to continue the legacy of the Airmax. Some of the greatest Air maxes in recent times have been released on this special day.

Undefeated Is Back With Another Air Max 90 Collaboration

Flowing their more recent air max 90 collaboration, undefeated has returned with three fresh new colorways on an unfamiliar looking Airmax 90. What we are seeing from them is a more bulky shoe with minor details that make it different from the original model. All three color-ways releasing feature a translucent outsole with a speckled pattern on the midsole. We also see a pull tab on the back of the shoe which is one of the features that is rarely seen on the Air max 90. While one of the three shoes has already been released, the other two are expected to drop on March 26th which is more commonly know by sneaker-heads as Airmax day.

New Details Emerge Of The Upcoming Collaboration Between Nike And Stussy

Nike continues to expand its list of collaborations this time partnering with legendary streetwear brand Stussy. While the details are scarce about what type of clothing we will see in the collection, we do know the shoe that will release as part of the collection. We also have seen images of a tote bag with subtle Stussy branding. When it comes to the shoe for this collection we are once again seeing the return of an older silhouette with a more modern approach. This is a very common trend with collaborations that we see. Many of the shoe collaborations that we have seen between Nike and streetwear heavyweight Supreme bring back models like the Nike tailwind and the streak spectrum.

We all have one shoe in our collection that propelled our love for sneakers. for some, it could be a more pricey, exclusive pair while others felt inspired by the classics. No matter what end of the spectrum it lies on, we always know what shoe it is. I am going to talk about what particular shoe this was for me and my journey to acquire it. We begin all the way back in 2007 when I was 7 years old. I was at my house one day and I remember the TV was on in the background while I sat in my room doing homework. When all of a sudden a basketball-themed commercial plays grabbing my attention. I watch the commercial and realize that it is for a pair of basketball shoes. It was an advertisement for The Air Jordan 22. As soon as I laid my eyes on them I knew I need those shoes.

How Virgil Abloh Cemented His Legacy As A Top Nike Designer

Virgil Abloh needs no introduction as he is well known among sneakerheads and fashion enthusiasts. Most know for his high fashion streetwear clothing brand OFF-WHITE, Virgil has established a very impressive resume over the course of 18 years. One of the biggest accomplishments on that resume is a designer for Nike. In 2017 Nike brought Abloh in to redesign 10 different Nike models with his own OFF-WHITE BRANDED spin on each one. These would be known as “the 10”. These 10 would be his first official collaboration with the brand. All 10 of the shoes released were released via raffle through the Nike sneakers app. With his first collaboration being a huge success Nike decided they wanted to continue to work together moving forward.

Nike Brings Back Two Classic SB Colorways For The Nike Dunk low

Nike has announced the release of two new Nike dunk lows in two classic collegiate color-ways. The two schools represented by the colors on the shoe are Syracuse and Kentucky. Both of these schools are known for there elite basketball programs and are also both Nike sponsored schools. The first time we saw this series of shoes was back in 1985 when Nike released 8 different colorways each being unique to the school it was representing. in 2005 they celebrated 20 years of the Nike dunks and released 5 of the original colorways with updated materials that were better suited for skateboarders.

NBA Allstar Weekend 2020 Delivers For Sneakerheads

This past weekend was the 69th edition of the NBA Allstar game. One weekend of the year where basketball fans and sneakerheads can enjoy two things that seem to coexist, sneakers and basketball. Allstar weekend has become one of the best outlets for brands like Nike and Addidas to release exclusive products. One of the focal points for brands, when this event comes around, is, of course, performance basketball shoes. Many of the players that are in the Allstar game are superstars with signature sneaker deals. In past years it has become common for brands to create silhouettes for players to wear during the game. consumers then have a chance to purchase the same shoe that their favorite player is rocking on the court. This Allstar weekend proved to be one of the best for sneakers with a variety of great releases.

Introduced all the way back in 2002, Nike set out to create product curated specifically for skate-borders. One of the biggest focuses in the early stages of the brand was the footwear. At the time many skates boarders were skating in Air Jordans because they were both stylish and comfortable. With this in mind, Nike set out to create shoes the were functional but also stylish. with this in mind, Nike created the Nike sb low. In addition to the low Nike also created a mid-cut and high cut version of the shoe. From its initial launch in 2002 until around 2013 Nike SB dunks were very popular among sneaker-heads.
