Although Jordan brand is owned and operated by Nike it technically is its own brand. it began in 1984 when Nike signed a young basketball superstar by the name of Michael Jordan. Jordan blossomed and Nike took this as an opportunity to create a brand around a guy who was rapidly making his case as the best to ever play. They succeed and created a massive brand all built around the great of all time. By the time he got his first signature shoe people were hooked on the idea of being able to own the same pair of shoes as Michael Jordan. Jordan brand has since created and releases 34 different models. The first 14 of these models are the ones that most sneakerheads are gravitated towards. Jordan brand has since evolved from its heavy focus on Jordan as a player to now allowing people from other areas such as musicians and fashion who were once influenced by Jordan to create new modern designs using the older shoes. No matter the time period Jordan brand is responsible for shaping sneaker culture.
